Acer claims Aspire R 14’s “thinner 360-degree dual torque hinge” will make it easy to move the laptop to the tent or display modes. The Aspire R14 convertible can be configured with an array of 6th Generation Intel Core processors, up to 8GB of DDR3L RAM, and different sizes of solid-state drives (SSDs) for data storage. Acer Aspire R 14 comes with SSD for storage and includes MU-MIMO technology for faster connectivity option.
While we have no idea whether or not this device will arrive in South Africa, the Acer Aspire R14 will retail for US$699 in the States, and €799 for Eurozone buyers.
Its all-in-one sibling (above), meanwhile, is built for portability around the house or office; use the 1080p HD touch screen as a mobile slate, or flip out the kickstands for full laptop functionality.
In comparison, the Acer Aspire Z3 700 all-in-one PC will be released in Europe by the year’s end, beginning at €599, which makes it about $680 in US currency. Acer’s BluelightShield has four professionally tuned modes which the users can toggle to reduce the strain on their eyes by controlling the amount of blue light emanating from the device screen.
Terry Myerson, Microsoft’s Executive Vice President of the Windows and Devices Group, October 10 in San Francisco was to attend the ASUS ROG published today they appeared in Taipei, to attend Acer’s presentation.
If ultraportables aren’t quite your thing, Acer has announced a new all-in-one-cum-tablet dubbed the Aspire Z3-700.
What you’ll also find inside the 17.3-inch frame is an integrated battery, which provides 5 hours of runtime when unplugged from a wall outlet.
Both devices have Acer TrueHarmony Plus technology with Dolby Audio, providing powerful audio with immersive surround. Pricing hasn’t been confirmed by Acer as of yet, but it is expected to be north of $700 at the very least. When paired with Continuum, this helps people switch easily between PC and tablet mode.
The Aspire R 14 is about 0.7 inches thick and weighs about 4 pounds.
