Acer unveils new Android Lollipop and Windows 10 smartphones

Also powered by the 64-bit, quad-core 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6735 processor, the 5-inch Z530 (measuring 144 x 70.3 x 8.9 mm) Android 5.1 phone is an intelligent device for those serious about their selfies. At the launch, the company announced that both the Liquid Z320 and Liquid M320 are targeted towards users who are switching to a smartphone or a feature packed second phone. The Android 5.1 Lollipop-based Liquid Z530 comes with 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, and Micro-USB connectivity options.

However, it seems like the reveal was either forgotten or left out on goal as the press conference swiftly came to an end without any mention of the handsets. This will also come in an octa-core processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant.

The lineup is lead by Acer’s Liquid Z630, a mid-range smartphone that features a quad-core 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6735 processor.

The Acer Liquid Z530 has some proprietary photo enhancements through Gourmet mode to please food photographers and there are features like touch-to-capture and smile shutter to give an enhanced image-taking experience. It offers 1GB RAM and 8GB storage, a FWVGA wide view angle screen and 2MP front facing and 5MP rear camera.

The Acer Liquid Z630 will be available in EMEA in September with prices starting at €199. It will be available in 16GB storage variant with expandable storage support. It is powered by a huge 4000mAh battery. Similar to the Liquid Z530, the Liquid 630 also sports 8-megapixel rear and front cameras.

The company touts that the handset features key apps designed as “Float Apps” that take up only a portion of the display so users can see and interact with the screen below. Connectivity comes in the form of Cat4 LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 EDR connectivity.

Along with this Acer has also announced the Z630S model which comes with an upgraded MediaTek octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM & 32GB of Internal Storage though the looks of both the devices are similar.

Each handset in the range comes with Acer’s BluelightShield, which allows you to control the exposure and blue light on the phone. The processing on the Liquid M330 is handled by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 (MS 8909) while the Liquid M320 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon MS 8209 processor. Acer already unveiled the Jade Primo dubbed as the “first pocket PC phone” running Windows 10 Mobile, but it’s not the only one, the company has introduced two budget-friendly Windows 10 Mobile handsets as well. While there’s no word on when the Liquid Z320 will be available as well as price.
