Activist Apple investor Carl Icahn to endorse Donald Trump
Icahn endorsed Trump for the 2016 election and told Cavuto: “I think he’s the best by far of any of these guys”.

He told Bloomberg Politics: “I would say it’s an endorsement”. I hate to see it go down the tubes and that’s what’s sort of happening. Trump has also said he would recruit Icahn to negotiate with China. He dismissed the other contenders as unlikely to bring needed change to Washington. However, the investor has previously denied this, saying “I have my day job”.
In June, Icahn scoffed at the notion of being Treasury secretary after Trump suggested Icahn might be suited for the role, joking that he doesn’t get up early enough in the morning to accept the opportunity.
In August, Trump asked the businessman to serve as his Treasury Secretary if elected president. The activist investor had initially said he was not interested in the post.
Bloomberg Billionaires Index, and primarily invests his own fortune, rather than relying on money from outsiders.
The video, produced and released by Icahn’s hedge investment firm Icahn Enterprises, touches on a number issues that have been bothering the billionaire lately.

In the meantime, Icahn says, the Federal Reserve has been given too much power and its financial crisis 0% interest rate policy is creating asset bubbles bound to pop sooner or later. “They should have absolutely raised rates six months ago”, noted Icahn, adding it’s hard now because of global concerns. “I’d be happy to help him in any way I could”, Icahn said. Low rates and cheap debt are leading companies to borrow to do unwise deals and buybacks, he said.
