Actor Anton Yelchin of ‘Star Trek’ killed in freak accident
Yelchin, who appeared in films such as Alpha Dog and Charlie Bartlett, also appears in Star Trek Beyond which is scheduled for release next month. He had gotten out of the vehicle momentarily, but police didn’t say why he was behind it when it started rolling.

Jennifer Allen, Yelchin’s publicist, also confirmed the death, saying the actor’s family has asked for privacy.
Friends became concerned when Yelchin did not show up for a rehearsal, the entertainment publication Variety reported. The third film in the series, “Star Trek Beyond”, comes out in July.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office said that Yelchin’s body was found pinned between a auto and a gate at a home in Studio City, California.
According to Lt. Larry Dietz, the Los Angeles County coroner’s office “concluded that Yelchin’s death was an accident” caused by “blunt traumatic asphyxia”. As a member of the Star Trek family, he was beloved by so many and he will missed by all.
Early in his film career as a teenager, Yelchin gained wide attention when he appeared with Anthony Hopkins in film “Hearts in Atlantis” in 2001 and with Robin Williams in the “House of D” in 2004.
Other friends, actors and celebrities also took to social media with their condolences. He was a great pal and a great son.
Yelchin, an only child, was born in Russian Federation.
