Actor Jishnu Raghavan dies of cancer
Kochi: Actor Jishnu Raghavan (35) passed away this morning, finally losing his battle to cancer. He passed away at Amrita Hospital in Kochi.

Even though he acted as a child artiste in 1987, it was in 2002 that he burst into the Malayalam film “Nammal”, which was a runaway hit.
Jishnu Raghavan Alingkil, known mononymously as Jishnu, was an Indian film actor who appeared in Malayalam films.
Jishnu was identified with cancer more than two years back and since then he has been very active in the social media airing the progress of his ailment. However, his victory was short lived and the cancer relapsed past year and the actor had been struggling with it ever since. He was awarded “Mathrubhumi award” and “Kerala Film critics Award” for his performance in Nammai. The Malayalam film industry was saddened by his demise and popular actors along with Jishnu’s fans expressed their condolences for his demise.
The actor is survived by his wife Dhanya Rajan, who is an architect by profession.
He went on to star in films like “Freedom”, “Parayam”, “Pauran“, “Chakkara Muthu” to name a few. Some of his favorite films include “Ordinary”, “Nidra” and “Annum Innum Ennum”.

Sources said Jishnu breathed his last around 8.15 am today at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, where he was being treated for lung and throat cancer. He graduated in Mechanical Engineering from NIT Calicut.
