Actor John Stamos charged with driving under the influence

The story has been started back in June when his harsh driving in Beverly Hills got official complaints from multiple motorists.

John Stamos has been charged with DUI in Los Angeles County in connection with an arrest last June.

That drug has never been specified, though reports of the incident, which occurred on June 12, stated that Stamos was “allegedly behaving strangely and driving erratically”.

Stamos, 52, has been charged with one misdemeanor count of driving while under the influence of drugs, the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office said. Shortly thereafter, he checked himself into rehab for substance abuse, and spent 30 days at a treatment facility.

It’s likely that any jail sentence would not have to be served until next year, but such a sentence could be an issue for Stamos, who is now working on two major television shows, Fox’s Grandfathered, which he is the star of, and Full House, which he plays a major role in. If convicted of the charge, Stamos will face up to six months in prison.

Stamos is scheduled to be arraigned Friday, but since it’s a misdemeanor case, an attorney can appear on his behalf without him being present.

A day after his arrest, Stamos tweeted his thanks to his fans, the hospital and the police department: “Thanks to everyone for their love & support”.
