Actor Randy Quaid detained ahead of immigration hearing

Quaid and his wife sued John Kerry and the State Department on Monday, December 15, 2014, to recover passports that the government revoked three years ago.

Quaid failed to show up for a meeting with the Immigration and Refugee Board in 2013, and the Canadian government lost track of his whereabouts.

American actor Randy Quaid has been arrested again and is scheduled to appear before the Immigration and Refugee Board in Montreal on Thursday.

The Canada Border Service Agency could not immediately comment on Quaid’s arrest, and a rep for the actor did not immediately return FOX411’s request for comment.

Evi and Randy left behind charges for property damage in a California home that they were allegedly living in without the owners’ knowledge or consent.

The couple fled to Canada in 2010 after claiming that they were targeted in a plot to kill Hollywood stars.

Immigration and Refugee Board spokesman Robert Gervais confirmed that Quaid will have a detention review hearing before a commissioner on Thursday afternoon.

In an unverified Twitter account on Wednesday, Evi Quaid said Randy Quaid was arrested by a CBSA agent on October 6. He is the older brother of actor Dennis Quaid.

Though he’s known to many as the lovable Uncle Eddie from “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation“, Randy Quaid has since become quite the worldwide criminal. He was later released on bond and pleaded with Canadian officials in court to allow him to stay with his wife. He was also nominated for a best supporting actor Oscar in 1973 for his role in “The Last Detail”.
