Actress Emily Blunt: GOP Debate Made Her Regret US Citizenship
Actress Emily Blunt recently became an American citizen after years of living and working in the country.

Blunt admits she was a little taken aback by the blunt nature of the investor, but she wasn’t really surprised.
The “Sicario” star then opened up about how she feels about becoming American. Kooiman said, noting that the actor had appeared in films such as The Devil Wears Prada and The Edge of Tomorrow. And most people know that, even if Steve Doocy and all the hosts of Fox & Friends don’t.
‘I think I’ll probably leave the political jokes to late night or something’.
On becoming an American citizen on August . 4, Blunt told NBC, “It’s really meaningful”. She also quipped about having to renounce Her Majesty during the citizenship ceremony… but not actually mean it.
She continued: “I’m unsure I’m completely thrilled about (turning in to a American)”. So I think as soon as you do a role like that, like Charlize (Theron) did or I did, or Rebecca’s (Ferguson from “Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation“) done – there’s like four of us or something.
Ellen DeGeneres recently welcomed the 32-year-old actress, who denies she’s in talks to play “Captain Marvel”, to her new American status by making her dress up as the Statue of Liberty and singing “Yankee Doodle Dandy”. Many viewers and fans have already typecasted her in this kind of role, which, as it seems, according to her recent interview with Indiewire, doesn’t sit too well with her. So I think that’s why the rumors happen, because they’re like, ‘who else?
‘Let some American women take on the roles that you’re getting, because Americans are watching your movies and lining your pockets’. She just Dixie Chicked herself.

One vulnerable character she will be playing in the future is Rachel Watson in the movie adaptation of Paula Hawkins’ bestselling novel “The Girl On the Train”.
