HENDERSON COUNTY, North Carolina – Actress Kelly McGillis, known for her role in ‘Top Gun, ‘ was the victim in a stalking and assault case Friday, June 17th when a woman broke into her North Carolina home.

Deputies say she came home to find Laurence Marie Dorn in her home.

McGillis posted about the incident on Facebook.

Greenville County deputies are looking for Xavier Wenstrup, who they say escaped after he was arrested.

But something else was off: In her inside entryway, she noticed a pair of girls’ pink sandals and a larger pair of black sandals.

“I asked her who she is and why she was in my house and she said ‘you know why you’ve been stalking me in Twitter, ‘” she wrote. What have I done?’ You get an opportunity to look where you have been and where you want to go when you have a big shift in your life like that.

In a follow-up post on Facebook, McGillis thanked fans for their support and said she is planning to obtain a concealed carry permit.

“I began screaming as loud as I could hoping someone somewhere might hear me”, McGillis said. Laurence continued to scratch and pull her hairbutKelly somehow set off her auto alarm which distracted the attacker for just enough time. There was no one around since it was Friday night, so I chased someone in a vehicle, kept flashing my lights and honking the horn.

McGillis ran to her truck and drove off. A truly good Samaritan. Too shorten this ever long story. Scratched and bruise. I feel very thankful it turned out well.

“I feel heartache for. the little girl that was with her”, McGillis added. Mental illness takes many hostages.
