Actress Susan Sarandon Campaigns for Sanders in Iowa

In South Carolina, Clinton – largely fueled by the support of African American voters – beats her Democratic rival by more than a two-to-one margin. “Bernie promised he wouldn’t make personal attacks in this campaign …We can’t let these attacks go unchecked”.

Weaver said Clinton was “asking to change the rules to schedule a debate next week that is not sanctioned by the DNC”.

“If Clinton carries Iowa, she can absorb a defeat to Sanders who has a home field advantage in New Hampshire and then move on to SC”, he added. We think there should be at least three or four more debates following the ones that are now scheduled. Her doctor said at the time she was in “excellent physical condition”.

He noted Clinton’s Goldman Sachs speaking fees during the last presidential debate in SC and during a stop in Mason City on Wednesday night, Sanders told supporters that Clinton was raising money at a Philadelphia investment firm while he was campaigning with Iowans.

CLINTON: “Well, I have been very public in saying I would like the DNC to work with all of the campaigns, because that’s what it did when it set up this schedule, and obviously we want to be supportive”.

Earnest said Obama was certainly expecting to spend some time talking in the meeting about how they could work together to advance Democratic priorities and values. Sanders has advocated a new health care plan that he’s dubbed “Medicare for all”, while Clinton advocates building on the Affordable Care Act instead. “I feel that I’ve learned a lot, I think my experience as secretary of state has given me additional understanding of what the next president has to do”.

The meeting comes after Obama heaped praise on other Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and dismissed comparisons between Sanders rise in the early state polls and Obama’s groundbreaking 2008 campaign against Clinton. Sanders holds a three-point lead among men, 46 to 43 percent.

Meanwhile, Clinton holds an even more substantial lead over Sanders in SC, where NBC/WSJ/Marist conducted their first survey of likely primary voters.
