Viola Davis is the first black woman to win best drama series actress in Emmy history.

HBO’s “Olive Kitteridge” won six Emmys including best limited series and trophies for lead actress Frances McDormand, lead actor Richard Jenkins and supporting actor for Bill Murray, though the actor was not on hand at the ceremony.

Jon Hamm, 44, finally won best leading actor in a drama series after eight years of nominations for Mad Men, crawling on stage to accept it.

The award for outstanding lead actor in a comedy series was given to Jeffrey Tambor for the show Transparent. Clearly, that’s changing. Indeed, her fellow nominee Taraji P. Henson (Empire) was a favorite to win in the category, but there is also much work to be done when it comes to diversity in Hollywood.

Uzo Aduba of “Orange Is The New Black” has won the outstanding supporting actress award, making it her second Emmy back to back. It was a bittersweet moment, as it also represented the last time Jon will be mentioned for the TV show, which ended this year (15) after seven seasons.

The captivating drama series, Game of Thrones, set new records in the recent Emmy Awards by bagging an astounding 12 awards.

“We don’t have a trans tipping point yet, we have a trans civil rights problem”, said Jill Soloway as she collected her award for best director of a comedy.

There’s been major discussion around John Hamm, whose series “Mad Men” came to an end this year. “The Voice” took home Outstanding Reality-Competition Program on Sunday, while the network nabbed 11 awards at the Creative Arts Emmys.

O’Dell then asked her what all Emmys viewers are probably wondering – what does it feel like to win an Emmy?
