At the MLB Home Run Derby in San Diego, Giancarlo Stanton of the Miami Marlins hit a record 61 home runs en route to claiming his first career Home Run Derby title.
You already knew that.
The damage added up to 61 long balls, by far the most in the event’s history (although the current format does produce much higher home run totals).
