Adam Gase gets a second interview with the Eagles

Philadelphia was apparently impressed by Bears coordinator Adam Gase.

Whilst he left without a contract to continue his scheduled tour of interviews, NFL Insider Ian Rapoport has claimed that he will return to Philadelphia for a second interview.

The Eagles have also interviewed in-house candidates Duce Staley and Pat Shurmur, but neither is viewing as a leading candidate to this point. He was the Broncos’ offensive coordinator for the two previous seasons.

Gase just finished his first season with the Bears, where he helped Jay Cutler set a career-high in passer rating with 92.3.

The Eagles fired Chip Kelly recently after three seasons as coach, citing a lack of people skills and a failure to communicate within the organization.

While Gase’s track record as an OC and a quarterbacks coach is tremendous, there would still be a lot of questions if the Eagles hired him specifically because he’s never been a head coach before.
