Adam Lambert blasts Donald Trump for using Queen’s music
Their hit We Are The Champions was used to introduce Trump on stage to cheering crowds at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio.

The only problem was, according to a rep for Sony Music ATV, Trump didn’t have permission to use the song. Last month, Queen guitarist Brian May also wrote a blog post protesting the use of the song by the Trump campaign.
Adam Lambert has blasted Donald Trump for using Queen’s music during political speeches.
It is unclear, however, if the Trump campaign or the RNC licensed the Queen song, even if the band didn’t approve.
Before Melania Trump gave a speech in Cleveland on Monday night, Trump made a brief appearance to introduce her and walked onstage to Queen’s 1977 hit song.
“Sony/ATV Music Publishing has never been asked by Mr Trump, the Trump campaign or the Trump Organization for permission to use We Are The Champions by Queen”, the statement reads.
Adam Lambert, who is now the lead singer for Queen, tweeted a photo of original Queen frontman Freddie Mercury, with the words: “If your politics party spends decades treating gay people as second-class citizens, guess what: You don’t get to use Freddie Mercury’s music at your convention”.
The band said on Twitter that it was “against our wishes” for the song to be used.
The Republican politician has previously incurred the wrath of Neil Young, after playing “Rockin” In The Free World’ at his rallies.

It isn’t the first time Trump has played the song at a campaign-related event.
