Adam McKay May Write Ant-Man And The Wasp
It was recently revealed that Ant-Man director Peyton Reed is in talks to return to direct Ant-Man and The Wasp, but what isn’t clear right now is who will write the sequel. Adam McKay also mentions that he does have other projects that hes “kicking around” so the other issue that might stand in the way, even if Marvel is interested in having him back, is whether or not hed be available. We’ll see what happens, but that would certainly be fun. McKay came on board when Rudd began drafting a new version of the film following the departure of original writer/director Edgar Wright.

Marvel’s Ant-Man overcame troubling bumps in the road to snare over $500 million at the global box office, and one of the people who helped was Adam McKay, the director of Anchorman. Ant-Man was a charming, genre-bending movie, and it made enough money (over half a billion, but who’s counting?) for Disney to grant the film a surprise sequel in Ant-Man and the Wasp, due out in 2018. It’s the first time a Marvel film has put a heroine on equal billing with the title hero, with no disrespect to their planned Ms. Marvel film, Captain Marvel.

Although he has other projects in development, Ant-Man and the Wasp isn’t hitting theaters until July 6, 2018, giving McKay plenty of time to figure out if he can commit to writing the screenplay. One was very pitched toward younger kids and very broad, and the second was a much darker version of it. I just personally feel like they have not gotten the tone right. And man, it’s a bummer. “I loved working with Marvel”, he said. I just know there’s a great Fantastic Four movie to be had.
