Add Adele to the growing list of artists who don’t want Donald Trump to use their music for his campaign.
Adele has released a statement seemingly voicing her displeasure at Donald Trump using her music at political rallies.
J.D. Durkin is the Senior Editor of Mediaite. He sent trump not just one, but two, cease-and-desist letters, as Trump and his campaign had continued to use Tyler’s songs after the first letter had not done the trick. In addition to that whole Iowa caucus thing, Trump has continued having difficulty finding a theme song for his campaign, with countless musicians having pulled their music, reports BBC. Such case is Neil Young’s Rockin’ in the Free World, which Trump used while announcing his candidacy.

At the time, Tyler’s spokesperson had said: “It gives the false impression that [Tyler] is connected with or endorses Mr Trump’s presidential bid”. “Any use of his music should not be seen as an endorsement of Donald Trump by Elton”, the publicist said. “The Trump organization obtained public performance licenses from both ASCAP and BMI which can not decline a public performance license even when a songwriter may not approve of the use”, Tyler’s lawyer said. Michael Stipe, the band’s frontman, had a few choice words for Trump when he heard the track was used during the Stop the Iran Deal Rally late a year ago. As a Canadian, Young pointed out he supported Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, one of the most outspoken liberals in Congress. The candidate ultimately stopped using Dream On for his political rallies.
