Adele Breaks NSYNC’s Single Week Sales Record in 4 Days
25 is now the fastest-selling album in 10 years, after former record holders, Nsync’s album No Strings Attached, sold 2.4 million in 2000 during its first week of release.

“We officially say Bye Bye Bye as @Adele says Hello to the World Record of Most Albums Sold In a Single Week”. The British record is held by rockers Oasis, whose “Be Here Now” sold 696,000 copies in its first week in 1997.
Earlier this month the first single from the album, Hello, became the first single to sell more than one million downloads in a single week in the USA, after debuting at number one.
One thing’s for sure: execs from XL and Columbia, the record labels which co-released 25, are going to be celebrating this week. It was a totally impressive feat, and yet, it was no match for Adele and her sultry pipes.
Adele is breaking hearts and records. Billboard magazine, which runs the benchmark USA chart, predicted that “25” would sell around 2.9 million copies in its first week in the United States.
Her second album, “21”, passed the 10-million-sold mark: the first reported by the Recording Industry Association of America to reach that milestone since Usher’s “Confessions”, which came out in 2004.
The singer actually didn’t even need the full 96 hours to move 2.43 million units of “25”, according to Nielsen music.
Like Swift, Adele and her independent record company XL Recordings made a decision to withhold “25” from streaming platforms such as Apple Inc s Apple Music service, privately owned Spotify and Google Play.
In just three days, “25” has surpassed combined sales of the nation’s top-selling albums over the previous 11 weeks. Nielsen began keeping single-week album sales in 1991.

“You know, I listen to music as a fan, for the outlet of my emotions and stuff like that”, she said.
