Adele confirmed for Brit Awards 2016

Four years on from her defining performance of “Someone Like You” at the 2011 BRIT Awards, Adele has been confirmed to sing live at next year’s ceremony.

The artist has already bagged herself three Brit awards before, and considering the fact that her 25 album is the fastest selling and most downloaded number one album of all time, she stands in pretty good stead to add to her collection.

The Brit Awards will be held in Wednesday, February 24 and will honour the biggest names in British music.

The global superstar will perform at the bash at the O2 in London on February 24, to be broadcast live on ITV, while the Geordie duo will return as presenters.

On top of that, Adele is set to embark on her first tour in half a decade next year, with dates in the UK, Ireland and even North America.

In a statement, BRIT chairman Max Lousada explained why Adele is the obvious choice. In 2012 it was her one-fingered gesture to host James Corden for cutting off her acceptance speech that was well documented.

The singer has cemented her position as the biggest pop star in the world in the last couple of months, with her long-awaited third album 25 smashing pretty much every chart record going since its release on November 20th. Nominations are announced on Thursday 14th January.
