Adele cries to her music, too

Adele may keep her long-awaited album 25 off the free version of the streaming service Spotify, the Verge reported. Ongoing negotiations between Adele and Apple after her rumored departure from Spotify may lead to a solid partnership between the two for future ventures as well. She later allowed Apple Music to stream her 1989 album due to the fact that it is a paid-only service, and Adele may be going down the same route. In a time when the music industry is considered under threat, Adele continues to command the sales of both her online product and actual cds. CDs! Coldplay has also held a few of its albums from the service for months, and the relese of the band’s upcoming “A Head Full of Dreams” is also up in the air.

They have heard that Adele’s team are apparently trying to push it so that only Spotify Premium subscribers could listen to it, but apparently that is something Spotify has been resisting, presumably to be fair to its users.

Adele has broken so many records with her album, 21, that Billboard has chose to name it the top album of all time.

Should Adele opt out of Spotify, she would follow in the footsteps of Beyonce, whose self-titled album broke records as an iTunes exclusive in 2013, and most notably Taylor Swift.

Swift had a public dispute with the company over royalties paid to artists and ultimately removed her entire repertoire.

Despite the growth of streaming music and the expanded reach of streaming services, with those kinds of numbers expected in her first week, Adele still doesn’t need to stream her album. In its first week on release, it sold 1.1m downloads, almost doubling the seven-day record of 600,000, held by Flo Rida since 2009 for his song Right Round. Eventually, 21 did make it to Spotify though. The 27-year-old British singer and songwriter might say hello to Apple Music and good-bye to Spotify. Spotify could also reportedly turn down the “Someone Like You” singer’s request and miss out on the album, which has caused quite a bit of buzz long before its release date.
