Adele dominates BRIT Awards with four wins

British star Adele led the charge at the BRIT Awards in London, with four wins including best British female artist, best single for her record-breaking hit “Hello”, and best album for “25”, a smash hit on both sides of the Atlantic.

Singer Adele, who comes from Tottenham, is a big supporter of the White Hart Lane club and last night she enjoyed a fruitful evening at the Brit Awards.

As the singer accepted her MasterCard British Album of the Year award, she said about her (otherwise anonymous) partner: “I’m going to embarrass you, sorry, [but I want to thank] my boyfriend”.

After thanking her label and management, Adele said during her Best Female victory speech: “I’d also like to take this moment to publicly support Kesha”. James Bay was named British Male Solo Artist, while Coldplay won British Group.

Coldplay were named best British group and dedicated their award to musicians in refugee camps around the world.

Charlie Andrew beat Mark Ronson for British Producer of the Year.

One Direction, who have a huge fan base, were winners of the best British video for Drag Me Down which was voted for by the public.

Björk Guðmundsdóttir was endowed the title Best International Female Solo Artist at the recently held Brit Awards.

David Bowie, who was remembered in a musical tribute by Lorde and a moving speech by friends Annie Lennox and Gary Oldman, is at number two with his Best Of Bowie retrospective.

The star topped off the night with a flawless performance of her single When We Were Young. “I honestly can’t tell you, I got really lost for a while, I didn’t know if I’d ever come back”. “You blow me away every time”.

When accepting her award for BRITs Global Success, Adele got a little bit emotional.

“Man, I’m shaking right now”, he said as he took the stage, thanking his fans for their support after a couple of years where he appeared to go off the rails.

“Life is a journey”, he said. The latter’s surprise appearance during Rihanna’s performance of “Work” earned them the second most-tweeted about accolade with 54,300 tweets.

“It’s nearly impossible to mention Bowie’s name in the past tense”, Lennox said.

“They were in a spot for this show where they needed a guitar player and it was kind of a ‘hey do you fancy doing it?'” The legend of his extraordinary sound shall be revered for as long as the Earth shall spin’.
