Adele fans angry over no streaming call

Adele’s much-awaited album titled “25” is supposed to be released on November 20, but a few days prior to the official launch, someone leaked it online causing an uproar.

Adele’s representatives declined to comment on the decision. Fans of Beyonce and Adele can always stream albums later, once the sales have slowed.

Swift was even previously reported to have been complaining of the way her music was being given for free for music streaming users, saying how it devalues her craft, which is also similar to Adele’s case.

“Her soulful new single, ‘Hello, ‘ is available to stream on Apple Music along with her entire catalogue and her revealing interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1”, the company said in a statement. The album will be released at midnight on iTunes and Amazon, and in shops on Friday.

However, fans could listen to the artist on TIDAL, the Jay Z owned music streaming service. She did put the album on Apple Music in July, after it agreed to pay artists during a free trial.

Adele owes her success in no small part to her unpretentious, nonrock star image.

Meanwhile, Spotify also had its say on the matter and confirmed the news.

Adele-who, despite the album’s title, is 27-has described “25” as a look at her life “teetering on the edge of being an old adolescent and a fully fledged adult”.

“This is a minor issue for Adele, but a major issue for the streaming services”, said Mark Mulligan, a digital-media analyst with Midia Research.

Regardless, Billboard is speculating that the LP stands to set a record for first-week sales with sources claiming that they will ship 3.6 million physical copies.

Spotify and Deezer, two of the main streamers, said on Thursday they would not carry it, though they hoped that would change.

25 is expected to be a mega-hit for the music industry, with experts predicting 2.5 million copies sold in the first week, the NY Times reports.

“I can’t do anything else, this is all that I like doing”.

The singer’s hotly anticipated album is projected to sell over a million units in its debut week after its release today – in just three weeks, the single Hello has sold 2.2 million tracks – helping the ailing record business in the final quarter of the year.

The singer is said to have been personally involved in the decision, according to the NY Times.

“The week I was doing [Saturday Night Live], it was meant to be a normal week but the week after, Sarah Palin was supposed to do it”, she said.
