Adele keeps top spot in albums chart after Brit Awards triumph
The 27-year-old singer also picked up British Female Solo Artist, British Single for “Hello” and Mastercard British Album Of The Year for “25” and closed the show with a performance of her new single “When We Were Young”. From publically supporting Kesha to getting teary over the fact that she got “really lost for a while” and didn’t know if she’d make another album, Adele is the realest.

However, when she came back on stage to receive another award (Yes, she aced four), she stated, “I’m really sorry about swearing earlier and I’m really sorry for the ugly cry face”.
Rihanna, Adele, Justin Bieber, Coldplay all performed and our very own Kylie Minogue was a special guest presenter when she awarded English musician James Bay with the Best British Male Solo Artist.
The BRIT Awards, held in London’s O2 arena, are the mainstream British music industry’s most prestigious awards ceremony, having been held every year since 1982. “We love you and we thank you”.
The ceremony was opened by Coldplay, who gave a colourful, floral performance of their single “Hymn For The Weekend”, showering the audience with confetti petals as they played on one of two separate stages at London’s O2 arena. New Zealand singer Lorde performed Bowie’s hit song Life On Mars in tribute to the singer after the award was announced.
She finished: ‘Tim Peake I love you, I hope you’re OK and not too hungry!’
“Hello” singer Adele, was the star of the evening at the 2016 Brit Awards scooping four awards for her third studio album “25”.
It is the second time Adele has taken home the prize, following on from her 2013 success when she took home the award for Skyfall.
But it failed to follow in the footsteps of Someone Like You, which soared from number 46 in the charts to number one after she sang it at the Brits in 2011. Following an advert break, they also apologised for Adele’s on-screen swearing, explaining that the “bleep man” had not caught her swear word fast enough.
Dr. Luke, whose real name is Lukasz Gottwald, has not been charged with a crime and says the Kesha is lying in an effort to break her contract.
Meanwhile, British boyband One Direction beat Adele in the category of British Artist Video of the Year, which is fan-voted.

Cementing 2016 as the Year of Adele, she received an out of this world surprise as Major Tim Peake called down to Earth from the International Space Station to present an emotional Adele with the global success award. Overseas acts which were honored included Justin Bieber (International Male Solo Artist) and Björk (International Female Solo Artist), and Australian psych-rock group Tame Impala (International Group).
