Adele didn’t get a nomination because her comeback single, “Hello”, and album “25”, were not released before the September 30, 2015 deadline.

Adele, whose album “25” has broken records since its release back in November, is now set to perform at the 2016 Grammy Awards, although the British singer has not been nominated, only because her latest album was released outside the eligibility period.

However, Adele will still be delighting fans at the event, as she will take to the stage in February (16) to show off her vocal talents, the Associated Press confirmed on Wednesday (20Jan16). “We look forward to celebrating what’s been a wonderful year in music, honoring the best of the best and featuring never-before-seen performances”, said Portnow.

The Weeknd, up for seven awards this year, and Little Big Town, who won for “Pontoon” three years ago and is now nominated for four awards for “Girl Crush”, will also play. Little Big Town are up for two Grammys, including Best Country Album. One such group, best album, will see his record To Pimp a Butterfly compete against Taylor Swift’s 1989. A special tribute to Lionel Richie, who is the Recording Academy’s 2016 MusiCares person of the year, also will be featured on the Grammys telecast.

LL Cool J will host the show which will air live on CBS from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on February 15 at 8pm EST.
