Adele Performs ‘When We Were Young’ on ’60 Minutes Australia’
However the singer’s fans are desperate to hear more of her new material, and it looks like they just got their wish.

Australian news outlet 60 Minutes Australia secured the singer for an exclusive performance of her anticipated new tracks. The 27-year-old singer/songwriter previewed the song during a 60 Minutes interview teaser. “We are, in our brains”, she joked to Rolling Stone, referring to Taylor Swift’s famous posse of gal-pals. From what we can garner, the song-co-written with Tobias Jesso Jr.-echoes familiar Adele themes of nostalgia and longing (“It was just like a movie / it was just like a song / when we were young”), replete with a trademark booming chorus.
With lyrics such as, ‘We were sad ’bout getting old, it made us restless, ‘ the track is as emotionally-charged and reflective as Hello (which still has us reaching for the tissues every time we hear it, FYI).
‘This is my f*** you song, ‘ she told The Observer’s music magazine. I’m pretty behind on social networking culture, I’d have no idea how to do it. Also I didn’t want to ask and have him say, “Absolutely not, I think you’re shit”.

It’s likely Adele will have performed the song during her BBC Special, “Adele at the BBC”, which will air on BBC One this Friday – the same day her album is released, and will actually be the very first televised interview/performance specials that she has coming up. That preview moved me’.
