Adele has dropped her first single in three years with the appropriate title “Hello”, along with a release date for her next album, “25”.

‘I’m sorry for breaking your heart/ But it don’t matter, it clearly doesn’t tear you apart anymore, ‘ the 27-year-old sings in the black-and-white video, filmed in the Quebec countryside around Montreal and released on Friday. “I’m making up with myself”, Adele explained on Facebook.

Imagine a world where Adele released the incredible Grammy winning Album 21, performed the chilling and bombastic Oscar winning theme for “Skyfall”, and then disappeared. The video moves from intimate interiors, including shots of a playful Wilds presumably in better times, to windswept vistas with Adele belting out the ballad’s keening chorus. The British songstress’ vocals soar as she mourns her lost love.

It’s not the last single we’ll likely hear from Adele as this is just the lad single off of her latest album, titled 25. “So a couple of times I thought I’d dried up”.

“Because of my last album, because of what it went on to do, it was kind of a write-off to ever expect anything with this album, the new one, like that”, Adele said.

“Getting into like the headspace to write a record I found really hard”, she said. I very much thought it…

“The real explanation is that I never like filming modern phones or cars”.

If you’ve seen the music video, you know what we’re talking about.

Adele will release the follow-up to her monumental 21 album on November 20. But I haven’t got time to hold on to the crumbs of my past like I used to.

The singer bared her soul in an open letter to fans earlier this week as she announced her new music, and the singer promised 25 would be “a make up album”.
