Adele’s 25 album sales smashes record

It’s also the first album to pass the 3-million sales mark in a week in Nielsen history.

After just seven days of availability, 25 is already the U.S.’s highest-selling album of 2015, almost doubling the 1.8 million copies of Taylor Swift’s 1989 had accrued in the first 11 months of the year. “Albums are [now] just a portion of the total consumption of music and to see an artist sell this many albums in a week is a feat that surpasses all expectations”.

25 has reportedly sold almost 2.4 million copies in the United States along with 300,000 album copies sold in the UK right after its roll out.

Adele also looked to set a record in Britain, where “25” has sold 538,000 copies in its first three days.

The tally for 25 is the largest for an album since Nielsen began tracking sales in 1991. “I hope you enjoy the record as much as I enjoyed making it for you”. Adele has been great for retail.

Adele’s newest album, 25, has been inciting more than Internet chatter.

The Oscar-winning Skyfall singer’s record has sold 800,307 copies in the first week of its release – surpassing Oasis’s Be Here Now, which sold 696,000 units in its debut chart week in August 1997.

By the end of the week, Adele had almost doubled those numbers.

Adele’s tour will make stops in Dublin, London, Glasgow, and Berlin, among other European cities.

But a loophole in USA licensing laws allows Pandora to stream “25”.

The statement goes on to say, “It is clear radio listeners love Adele and are coming to Pandora to enjoy her incredible music”.
