Adele’s ’25’ by the Numbers
Also, it spent 24 weeks on the top and now her recent release is expected to make a huge record in music industry not just due to its relatability with Adele but also because it proved to show a better start than its precursor.

As NME reports, the album that previously held the United States record, somewhat surprisingly perhaps, was *NSYNC’s No Strings Attached.
“She chose to withhold her music from on-demand streaming services like Spotify, Rhapsody and Deezer”, except for the main album single, Weiblinger said. Her previous album, “21”, has sold 11.2 million copies – the 10th most in American music history.
Million Sold: Total number of copies 25 sold in the U.S.in its debut week (ending November 26) according to Nielsen Music.
“25” also broke records in Canada and Britain, where its 800,307 copies sold were more than the last 19 No. 1 albums in Britain combined, the Official Charts Company said last week.
This is her most interesting and enticing album yet. The previous record was set by Oasis’ Be Here Now, which sold 696,000 copies in the week it was released back in 1997.
The tweet of Friday read: “A 27-year old mom who just uses social media is selling more records than anyone believed was still potential”.
The figures for “25” were the biggest single-week sales tally for an album since Nielsen began tracking sales in 1991.
Additionally, the album is already the best-selling album of 2015.
25, Adele’s third studio album, was released on November 20.
By the end of the week, Adele had almost doubled those numbers.

The Beatles album 1 hit the million mark in its sixth week on the charts in December 2000. The album has risen to its highest rank in over three years. The Canadian pop singer’s “Love Yourself” also took the No 3 spot ahead of Adele’s new single “When We Were Young”. This year? There are four, with a potential fifth: Taylor Swift’s “1989”, Drake’s “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late”, Ed Sheeran’s “X”, Adele’s “25”, and possibly Sam Smith’s “In the Lonely Hour”.
