Adele’s ’25’ Sales Grow to Over 3 Million in U.S.
Soaring sales! Three days after the British singer released her new 25 album on Friday it already clocked over 2.433 million sales in downloads and physical copies in the U.S.

Nielsen Music said Monday that Adele will nearly certainly break the one-week record for album sales, set by ‘NSYNC in 2000 with 2.4 million for “No Strings Attached”.
The record is now expected to have sold over 3 million copies by the end of its first week on sale.
Adele’s new album 25 has not only become the fastest selling album in iTunes history, it also managed to dethrone *NSYNC from the top spot in single-week album sales. Within the first three days of its release, 25 sold 2,433,000 in album sales, a number confirmed by Nielsen Music on November 24.
Adele’s decision to omit her new album from streaming platforms mimics Taylor Swift’s move past year not to offer her blockbuster 1989 via streaming services, a move that was widely publicised and hailed by fellow musicians. It sold more than 30 million copies worldwide. The album was prefaced with the release of Hello, a smash-hit standalone single that blazed to number one on the music charts.
She performed the first single “Hello” on “Saturday Night Live” this past weekend.
Sales numbers for the album were helped along by its lack of presence on streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music.
Adele’s Hello takes the third spot, followed by Bieber’s What Do You Mean? and Fleur East’s Sax.
For the record, Bieber’s new “Purpose” album sold 648,711 copies during its first week, surpassing the 535,000 figure posted in February by Drake’s “If You’re Reading This” album that had been the highest first-week figure of 2015 to date.
‘The massive impact of 25 this week marks the moment that Adele has transformed herself from a phenomenon of our age to an all-time great, ‘ says Martin Talbot from the Official Charts Company. An album from past these years doesn’t appear until Taylor Swift’s 2012 work “Red”.

Capitalising on the momentum of “25”, Adele also announced Thursday that she will embark on her first tour in four years in early 2016.
