Adele’s ’25’ shatters record for most albums sold in first week

According to Mashable, the Dutch heart-throb was hired following the explosive popularity of Adele’s latest album, 25, which has sold a record 3.38 million copies in its first week on the United States market.

The British star notched up the biggest single sales for an album since Nielsen began tracking sales. ‘N Sync was one of the most popular boy bands in the world, selling millions of albums and dominating the music scene in the ’90s and 2000s with other groups including the Backstreet Boys. Her previous album, “21”, has sold 11.2 million copies – the 10th most in American music history.

Sales of Adele’s 25 made up 41% of all record sales in the USA this past week, which included the Thanksgiving holiday.

True, Adele does not like her 3-year old son to be photographed but she revealed that she recorded his voice, which can be heard on “Sweetest Devotion”, the last track on her album that explains her love for Angelo.

After four longs year of silence from Adele, it was perhaps inevitable that third album 25 would arrive with a bang, as fans rushed to buy and download new music from the “Someone Like You” songstress. Adele has out sold artist such as Britney Spears, Eminem, Lady Gaga, and Whitney Houston who have all had albums debuted at over 1 million copies.

On Thursday Nsync Reacts To Adele Breaking Their Sales Record was a top story. Over the past few years, especially with the introduction of streaming services, there has been a major decline in music industry sales.

Adele, 27, surpassed *NSync’s 15-year record, as the group’s 2000 album, No Strings Attached, sold 2.4 million copies in its first week.

Adele uses her powerful voice and talent to tell us an authentic story that we can relate to across her songs. The streaming units of the album comes from streams of the single “Hello” alone.

The juggernaut known as ADELE’s “25” continues to rack up impressive sales figures.

“You looked at those numbers and thought you’d never see those numbers again”.

Swift also had the best-selling album in 2009 with ‘Fearless’. Helping things along is the fact that 25 is not available on any streaming service like Spotify or Apple Music.
