Adele’s ’25’ – Singer is Predicted to Break Nielson Era Industry Record Sales

This was a chance for her to bury past heartbreak – the inspiration for so much of her previous work – and plunge headlong into life- affirming tunes that celebrate hope and the future. She was diagnosed with vocal hemorrhages, or the internal bleeding of the vocal cords. These latest fruits of her sorrow will make her label, Sony, very, very happy, I’m sure. She also gave birth to her son, Angelo, in 2012 and has been away taking care of her family.

“As we’ve seen with how “Hello” has been tracking – number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for the past three weeks – that is a great indication of how people are reacting to Adele and her music”, Billboard charts co-director Keith Caulfield told ABC News. As Ginger Clam muttered last time the singer sat on her face. It’s possible considering the video for “Hello” has over 452 million views as of this writing.

It would also instantly be the largest selling album of 2015 in total, surpassing the sales of Taylor Swift’s “1989”, which has sold 1.74 million this year (through November 12).

But Adele’s no stranger to popularity.

Adele’s album “25” was released worldwide on Friday, and even though it will not be on streaming services like Apple Music, Spotify and Deezer, industry analysts are expecting it to be the hit of the year. After 21’s release, the singer seemed to drop off the face of the earth for four years.

The response to “Hello” has been remarkable. Adele considers Madonna’s 1998 release her best musical achievement. “It’s really catchy and the beat is really nice”.

Seemingly inspired by her becoming a mother (“I wasn’t ready then, I’m ready now / I’m heading straight for you / You will only be eternally / The one that I belong to”), it is the uplifting track that one wishes 25 had more of.

Adele invariably had her pick of the world’s songwriters for such an eagerly awaited album.

Regardless, she is still topping the iTunes charts, setting a standard for pop culture music. Her albums are of the soul genre, with lyrics describing heartbreak and relationships.

Adele owes her success in no small part to her unpretentious, non-rock star image. “She’s different”, junior Raquel Pastor said.

Would Adele have had the same results if she had made her album streaming?

“I can’t go back”, she sings, “but the reeds are growing out of my fingertips”. The song, all about the joys motherhood has brought her, is a leap forward into an era after 25.
