Adele’s 25 Sold More Copies in One Week Than Any Album Ever
Adele’s eye-popping output is particularly impressive considering no other album besides “No Strings Attached” has even sold more than 2 million copies in one week.

Earlier this month, the long wait ended as the new Adele album, 25, was released featuring 11 brand new songs written and sung by the Grammy award winning artist.
According to Nielsen Music and Billboard, this is the largest single sales week for an album since Nielsen began tracking point-of-sale music purchases back in 1991.
Additionally, “25” is also the most downloaded Number One album of all time in the United Kingdom after being downloaded 252,423 times last week. Considering that 25 is already the top selling album on 2015 and it is late in the year, odds are she will have the best-selling album of 2016 too. “Be Here Now” sold 696,000 copies in its first week of release.
There are slightly more than four days left in the sales tracking week to be tabulated (as it ends at the close of business on Thursday, Dec. 3).
1 million: The single, Hello, became the first track to sell more than 1 million downloads in a week. Still, the success of Beyoncé’s album couldn’t come close to matching what both Taylor Swift and Adele had in store. Pandora has the album available and that gives the service an edge over its rivals.
Meanwhile, the New York Times continues to be criticised to get a “sexist” and “dissing” tweet used to encourage a post about Adele.
As everyone prepares for Christmas, Pentatonix’s “That’s Christmas to Me” re-enters the top 10, landing at No. 6 with 61,000.
Meanwhile, The Weeknd was up three spots to #5 with Beauty Behind the Madness, scoring 65,000 units (up 48%).
The juggernaut known as ADELE’s “25” continues to rack up impressive sales figures. That means 21 has now spent a total of 82 non-consecutive weeks in the top 10 since its release.
Although they’re not really considered part of the rap scene, rap-rockers Limp Bizkit may be one of the more surprising names on this list. It was also the first album to remain atop the chart to be made by a female artist.

Oops!… I did it again, Britney Spears’s 2000 album, sold more than 1.3 million copies in its debut week.
