Adele’s album set to break records after first day sales

However with her new album 25 now in stores, self-proclaimed “mouthy” Brit Adele has told how she struggled to consider in her skills as she does the promo rounds for the chart-topping album. In a honest new interview with Australia’s 60 Minutes, set to air on Sunday, the 27-year-old exposed in that she “did not consider in [herself]’ despite the blockbuster success of her last album, 21”. Because there are three full days left in Nielsen’s tracking week, 25 is going to smash No Strings Attached’s record barring some unforeseen catastrophe.

American pundits forecast Adele will achieve the highest first-week sales ever on the Billboard charts this week, with 1.9 million copies snapped up in two days. That’s a jaw-dropping number on its own, and the number’s subject to change with the album’s momentum.

It has sold more than 30 million copies since its release in 2011, with more than one million in Australia alone.

Spotify spokesperson Jonathan Prince would not confirm reports, saying in a statement, “We love and respect Adele, as do her 24 million fans on Spotify”.

It’s as if there isn’t a format Adele doesn’t qualify for: She appeals to those millions and millions of fans who have bought Susan Boyle and Michael Bublé albums, but she also shares the same fans as Kanye West, One Direction and the Black Keys.

Even after her first album, “19”, made Adele famous in 2008, she was known to pop down to her local pub, sans makeup, for a few drinks. Over the weekend, Billboard reported that “25” sold more than 900,000 copies on iTunes during the first day it was available from the digital retailer.

“There’s some smart analysis of What It All Means from Kobalt Label Services” David Emery, who worked on Adele’s last album “21” when he was at Beggars Group.

The first single, “Hello”, was released on October 23, along with the news of the album and a “Rolling Stone” cover piece. Adele’s “Hello” single has become the first song to sell one million tracks in a week. However, Adele’s spokesman did not have any say on this.

Releasing music via streaming services is the most common way for new music to debut today.
