Adele’s representatives declined to comment on the report.

Adele’s hugely anticipated new album “25” comes out on Friday – but if you’ve been counting on using a streaming service such as Spotify or Apple Music to hear it, you may be waiting quite a while.

“We love and respect Adele, as do her 24 million fans on Spotify”, the Spotify spokesperson said.

It’s unclear if Adele’s album will appear on Spotify or Apple Music in the future.

But since then, millions of people have flocked to these consumer-friendly streaming sites to listen to their enormous compilations of music for a small monthly fee.

Apple Inc and other services, including Pandora and Google Play, could not immediately be reached for comment.

Her Grammy and Brit Award-winning album 21 has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide since it came out in 2011.

25 is expected to be the biggest selling album of the year, following record breaking downloads and views for the first single “Hello”, which was released in October.

Adele’s last album, “21”, has sold more than 11 million copies in the United States since its 2011 release.

There’s been much debate about this over the past couple of weeks, and if true it will be the third year in a row that Spotify has missed out on the biggest album of the year. Swift, one of the most powerful names in pop music, made the decision after writing an op-ed on how artists should value their music and not offer it for free. In 2014, Taylor Swift battled with the streaming giant very publicly and kept 1989 off the service. “One individual artist is not going to change the inevitability of streaming”, he said.
