Adele’s new album sold a record 3.38 million
To put this all in perspective, 25 beat the previous single-week sales record once held by NSYNC’s No Strings Attached (it sold 2.42 million in its first week in March 2000).

The momentum of “25” has also driven Adele’s first two albums “19” and “21” back into the Top 20 with “21” at no 7 selling 4,056 copies and “19” at no 13 selling 2,436.
It has been confirmed that the amazingly talented Adele has gone on to shatter records in the US with her third studio album, “25”. “25” could do the same, especially as “25” has a bigger head start – “21” sold only 352,000 copies in its first week (that’s an “only” by Adele standards).
Adele fans – what do you think of the pop diva being crowned the new goddess and taking Taylor Swift’s throne? Of course, over a million of the 3.38 million copies were downloaded via iTunes, but the majority were physical sales.
As Noise11 reports, for the first time this year, the Number 1 single and album in the country both belong to the same artist, with Adele’s “Hello” topping the singles chart for a fifth straight week and 25 sitting atop the albums chart.
It’s no surprise that the supremely talented singer is smashing records.
The Oscar-winning singer’s number one record hit the one million sales mark within 10 days of its release and is the biggest album of 2015, overtaking Ed Sheeran’s x, according to the Official Charts Company.
Many albums are described as eagerly-anticipated, but it seems no album in recent memory has been as anticipated as Adele’s 25. That’s the largest sales week for an album since Nielsen began tracking point-of-sale music purchases in 1991. The album passed the previous record holders Oasis and their 1997 album “Be Here Now”.
Even though there is a little over a month left in 2015, it is safe to say that Adele’s 25 is the best selling album of 2015 world wide and should continue to smash records.

Billboard magazine, which runs the benchmark United States chart, earlier predicted that 25would sell around 2.9 million copies in its first week in the US.
