“I thought you’d be f***ing bored of me”, she told the crowd, forcing hosts Ant and Dec to apologise when the editing failed to cover up the expletive.
Adele broke down in tears at the Brit Awards on Wednesday as she emerged as the main victor.
For the best British Group, Coldplay won the award, which is their fourth British group win, and dedicated it to musicians around the world who are in refugee camps.
“25” has sold over 19 million copies worldwide, and the award brought her to four wins for the night, equaling Blur’s record. One Direction’s victory in the fan-voted best video category robbed Adele of the opportunity to become the most-garlanded artist in a single Brits ceremony.
Björk Guðmundsdóttir was endowed the title Best International Female Solo Artist at the recently held Brit Awards.
‘There were quite a few people around her and she just turned around and said, “I don’t want to do this, I’m going to go home”‘. The singer also took home best British single and Global Success award at the ceremony, which is the British equivalent of the Grammys. Rumours of an all-star tribute act proved wide of the mark, with Bowie’s old band instead taking to the stage to perform Life on Mars with Lorde, an artist he had championed.
She went on to thank her fans, and added: “You’re so awesome thanks so much, honestly you’re incredible, you blow me away every time”.
Adele cleans up at the BRIT Awards with the highest number of wins by an individual for 21 years. “I was not expecting this one at all, thank you very much”. Oldman described Bowie as a mortal with superhuman potential.
Canadian singer Justin Bieber, who performed his chart topping singles Love Yourself and Sorry, won best worldwide male. “Everyone has their ups and downs”. “I’m so lucky to have you love me the way you do, and to support me…”
