Buhari has distanced himself from the ongoing trial of Saraki at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) but in a recent interview with SaharaTv, he said the outcome of the investigation would determine whether or not he would have confidence in the senate president.

The embattled Senate President, Bukola Saraki on Thursday at the Presidential Villa, maintained that Nigeria’s future is bright and will get better with the years.
At the 55th independence anniversary celebration which held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Saraki stressed that it will no longer be business as usual.

27 pro- Saraki senators are now being probed.

A source told Vanguard that instead of thirty – six names, President Buhari sent twenty – one names as Ministerial nominees to the Senate President, with plans to send others very early on Tuesday before plenary session.

He said the National Assembly will continue to make laws that will impact positively on Nigerians.

“While we advise patriotic Nigerians to be on the lookout for such misinformation and regard them as the puerile propaganda that they are, we want to assure them that just like the phantom alleged forgery of the Senate Standing Rules, this too will surely fail”, he said. “Nobody should blame the Senate President”, he said.

Misau explained that rather than blame Saraki, members of the North-east caucus of the APC in the Senate overwhelmingly voted against the decision and rather preferred Senator Ali Ndume as the leader.

The prayers were adopted except Senator Marafa who showed open disapproval to the prayers.

Speaking on the vote of confidence, Chairman, Senate ad-hoc committee on Media and publicity, Senator Dino Melaye said that 83 Senators who endorsed the leadership of the Senate was the expression of confidence the lawmakers reposed on their leadership.
