Adrian Peterson Faces Uncertain Future Following Surgery
“Adrian Peterson had a successful lateral meniscus fix this morning”.

Coach Mike Zimmer confirmed the surgery plans at his Wednesday news conference but did not elaborate on a timetable for Peterson’s return.
The meniscus needed to be repaired, likely keeping Peterson on the shelf until at least the National Football League playoffs.
Without Bridgewater in Week 1, Minnesota rode its defense, which scored two touchdowns, to a win in Tennessee despite zero touchdowns from the offense. That’s scary, especially with a notoriously brittle quarterback like Bradford - and things don’t get any easier with left tackle Matt Kalil heading to the injured reserve today. Floyd missed four games last season after having a similar procedure on his left knee. “We’re going to continue to stay that way”, Zimmer said. After losing starting quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to a devastating knee injury during the preseason, the Vikings lost their star running back to one on Sunday night.
In his absence, the 2-0 Vikings will lean on Jerick McKinnon and Matt Asiata.
Peterson was injured late in the third quarter in the first regular-season game at U.S. Bank Stadium. This team, to me, is a team that is resilient, tough and competitive. “They’re competitive”, Zimmer said.
“(I’m) doing it with faith and optimism”, Peterson told ESPN. McCarthy, though, called that perhaps overly optimistic, saying a fix likely would sideline Peterson for six or more months. NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport says it’s possible Peterson could return for a December playoff push.
Make a trade: I just don’t see the Vikings trading for a running back.but then again, I didn’t see the Sam Bradford trade coming, either.
“I’ve never trusted a quarterback or an individual as a player more than I trust Aaron Rodgers”. He joined Randy Moss, Cris Carter and Sidney Rice as the only Vikings wide receivers in the last 25 years to be named NFC offensive player of the week. “This is a good group, and I’m very confident going forward that we’re going to be fine”. “It’s a team game”.
The line struggled in the first two games with the Vikings rushing for just 65 yards on 28 carries, and that was with Peterson. If the structure of Peterson’s reworked contract made 2017 a crossroads, and the addition of Bradford’s contract nudged the Vikings closer to it, it’s hard to imagine they’re not headed that way now. “It’s just the next man up”.

“You’re going to have guys go down throughout the year”, defensive end Brian Robison said. The poll asked 1,100 people from all demographics who they felt liked the least, and Kap came in at No. 1. Maybe it’s because he hasn’t had a fighting chance on most carries, but even as late as previous year, he had that lateral move, even when the blocking collapsed in front of him.
