Adrian Peterson has successful knee surgery
Vikings running back Adrian Peterson had successful surgery that revealed no damage beyond a torn meniscus. That much is certain. Yes, with his history and career stats, one could be anxious about how he will perform.

Peterson, 31, told ESPN on Wednesday he suffered a “bucket handle tear”, which is more severe than a typical meniscus tear.
“I have a lot of confidence in those two guys”, coach Mike Zimmer said on Monday.
Peterson, who has rushed for 50 yards on 31 carries this season, would carry a cap hit of $18 million for the Vikings into the 2017 season.
LAS VEGAS (AP) – The Raiders are another step closer to calling Las Vegas home.
A plan to build an National Football League stadium that could attract the Raiders to Las Vegas hit another milestone on Wednesday, with Gov. Brian Sandoval signaling support for the project and saying he intends to call Nevada lawmakers into a special session early next month to consider a public financing plan.
The Vikings said Peterson’s rehabilitation process will begin immediately. The New England Patriots are already down two quarterbacks, but it hasn’t stopped them from looking like the Super Bowl favorites. They can still only bring back one player, though, which means that if both Peterson and offensive tackle Matt Kalil somehow find themselves in a position to return to the field, the team can only bring one of them back.
“He just kind of popped”, Bradford said. Waynes, only starting in his third game, played very minimum previous year in his rookie season. The injury reportedly occurred during a practice play where Coleman hauled in a pass and went to the ground, at which point a teammate landed on his hand. Their sustainability will be tested on Sunday when they face the NFC Champion Carolina Panthers. But Bradford is a capable passer, as he demonstrated in his first start for the team Sunday night.
For now, McKinnon, a third-year man, will take over for the Vikings. Bosa missed all of training camp due to a contract dispute and developed a hamstring injury after signing with the Chargers. They could place him on injured reserve and designate him to return later in the season.
Colts: Receiver Donte Moncrief is expected to miss four to six weeks with a fractured left shoulder blade.
Peterson slightly twisted his knee at the end of a 5-yard run Sunday against the Packers.
