Adrian Peterson Injury: Updates on Vikings Star’s Knee and Return
Former Oklahoma star Sam Bradford made his debut with the Minnesota Vikings Sunday night, throwing two touchdowns in a win against the Green Bay Packers.

Peterson couldn’t put weight on his right leg and had to hop his way through a series of twists and turns before he could get medical attention he needed in the locker room.
Coach Mike Zimmer said he wouldn’t know the extent of the injury until after Peterson had the MRI, but he didn’t sound gravely concerned about it after the game.
On the positive side, Zimmer didn’t rule out Peterson playing in Week 2.
Although Bradford clearly impressed in his first game as a Viking, the team’s win did come with an incredibly tense moment in the third quarter. Indeed, he appeared to be readier than ever, as the Vikings hosted the Packers at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. For the first time in recent memory in Minnesota, there weren’t thousands of cheeseheaded Packer fans from the east who breached the gates and hollered “Go Pack Go!” during the game. Asiata led the Vikings with 570 rushing yards and nine touchdowns that season, and will likely see a bulk of the carries with Peterson sidelined for at least the next couple weeks.
On Sunday night, the Vikings set a home attendance record with 66,813 fans taking in the action. “We’ll figure out what the next procedure will be and the options that we have”. Bradford is more than good enough to avoid mistakes and let Adrian Peterson do the rest. The injury to Peterson is the latest blow to the Vikings, who saw quarterback Teddy Bridgewater tear multiple knee ligaments on August 30 and started the season with two different quarterbacks after trading for Bradford on September 3.
“Frankly, I think we’re in Week 2 of the season”, McCarthy said after Sunday’s loss.
For some reason, the National Football League seems to consider the Green Bay Packers a homecoming opponent for their NFC North Division brethren. “We’ve got to go back and be harsh with our critiques of ourselves, myself included, and we’ve got to get better”.

While Peterson has gotten off to a slow start this year, having him gives the Vikings a much better chance of being a playoff team and making a run.
