Adrian Peterson ties National Football League record with sixth career 200-yard game

Our biggest deal is we got to keep stringing wins together.

Minnesota got on the board with their first drive of the game, thanks to an 11-yard touchdown pass from Teddy Bridgewater to Rhett Ellison to make the score 7-0 around four minutes into the contest.

“That’s why we play this game”, quarterback Teddy Bridgewater said. So, we can’t just be satisfied with being where we are today.

“Every week we come in, we emphasize something that we need to work on”, said Charles Woodson. The Vikings responded when the momentum swung in the second quarter, with Cordarrelle Patterson returning a kickoff for a 93-yard touchdown to quickly answer the touchdown that gave the Raiders their only lead.

Peterson continues to be a difference-maker for the Vikings, rushing for 125 yards and a touchdown on 29 carries against the St. Louis Rams last week.

That strategy is often easier said than done, but Adrian Peterson sure makes it a lot easier. He’s fast. He’s patient. The Raiders’ defense has been stout against the run, but has had difficulties at home allowing 4.5 yards per carry to visiting running backs. However, he showed the Oakland Raiders that you still have to respect his talent, especially in the return game.

Raiders wide receiver Amari Cooper (89) catches a pass in front of Minnesota Vikings strong safety Andrew Sendejo (34) during the first half of an NFL football game in Oakland on Sunday, November 15, 2015.

Carr has put them in the position of a legitimate playoff team with a bright future ahead, which is something that hasn’t been said about Oakland in over a decade. But if you’ve been relying on any of those players, have a similarly inconsistent option at tight end or are looking for a cheap play in a DFS league this is a great time to plug Minnesota’s Kyle Rudolph in. “This team and everybody believes in one another”.

One published report on Patterson clocked him at 4.42 over 40 yards, which equates to 18.5 miles per hour, or the equivalent speed of a roadrunner.

The Raiders are 4-4 and right in the middle of the AFC playoff picture. The Raiders hit the road for crucial games against Detroit and Nashville.

Peterson’s 80-yard streak through Oakland’s defense with 1:50 remaining sealed Minnesota’s 30-14 victory over the Oakland Raiders at O.co Coliseum and turned another workmanlike day for the running back into an extraordinary performance for the record books.

But center Tony Bergstrom, playing for the injured Rodney Hudson, was called for a false start, and three short passes to Mychal Rivera resulted in a loss of 1 yard, an incompletion and a gain of 3 and a fumble the Raiders ultimately recovered.

“It’s a disappointing loss”, left tackle Donald Penn said. “If we were lined up next to each other and the game was played with two quarterbacks, then we could”. “It’s not one game we’ve been in where I’ve seen guys hanging their heads, or where you feel the vibe that guys have quit”. Carr threw TD passes to Clive Walford and Andre Holmes that put Oakland up 14-13 with under two minutes left in the half.

Game Preview: The two teams have had surprising success this season.

As the Packers look to get back to their sacking ways, they’re facing a Lions QB in Matthew Stafford who has been sacked 22 times in eight games this season. Even Kellen Davis managed his lone catch, and touchdown, of the season against the Raiders. He’s just the sixth QB in National Football League history to throw at least 20 touchdown passes in each of his first two seasons, joining Andy Dalton, Andrew Luck, Peyton Manning, Dan Marino and Russell Wilson.

The 24-year-old Carr has given up just four interceptions, while taking to the air 273 times so far.
