Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale has locked horns with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani. The film collected Rs 19.60 crores net approx (Rs. 196 million).

In Mangla area, activists of the Patit Pawan Sanghatana, a radical Hindu outfit, barged into a theatre and tore up the posters of “Bajirao Mastani”. Industry experts say though “Dilwale” has opened to packed houses, the numbers will only get better for “Bajirao Mastani”. The protesters raised slogans against Shah Rukh Khan-starrer “Dilwale” in the backdrop of the actor’s comments last month that intolerance was rising in the country amid a raging debate on the issue. Eventually, both the films seem to have found their own audience. As far as “Bajirao Mastani” is concerned, it’s a slow-starter. Experts said the first day collections of Dilwale may stand at around Rs 24-26 crore while that of Bajirao may be half of that.

The first day collection of BM will be approximately in between Rs 11-14 crores and as the weekends come, the collections will increase.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh said that “Dilwale” opening will be within the range of “very good to excellent”. “We are expecting aggressive opening for both the films”, he was quoted as saying in online media.

Dilwale” box office collections: In Malaysia, “Dilwale” has registered the biggest ever opening for any Hindi film.

The movie Bajirao Mastani is one of the biggest releases of 2015.
