Perry, 65, was performing on New York’s Coney Island Boardwalk with his band the Hollywood Vampires.

A Hollywood Vampires representative told Rolling Stone magazine that Perry was “stable and resting” since bringing him to the hospital.

A tweet from Perry’s official account addressed his medical scare on Twitter after the show.

“He had to sit on a drum kit and then went behind a small wall and passed out”, a fan posted on Instagram, alongside a video of Perry on the drum.

The band’s name refers to a ’70s drinking club Cooper was part of that also included John Lennon, The Who’s Keith Moon, Harry Nilsson, Bernie Taupin and Micky Dolenz of the Monkees.

Perry was taken to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital.

Sources tell US news show Entertainment Tonight Perry is still under doctors’ care, and as a result, Cooper and Depp have made a decision to cancel a scheduled appearance on America’s Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Monday.

Joe Perry began his career in music forming Aerosmith along with Steven Tyler, Ray Tabano, Tom Hamilton and Joey Kramer in Boston, MA in 1970. Frontman Alice Cooper said the band’s tour would continue as scheduled tonight, adding: “Thanks for supporting Joe!”
