‘Affluenza’ teen’s mom set for arraignment
Stephanie Patton, Couch’s attorney, said that she and her client met with the judge behind closed doors after the arraignment.

Once she is back, she will be held on a bond of $1 million.
Ethan Couch, 18, and his mother were arrested last month in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, after authorities said that one of them used their personal cellphone to order a pizza for delivery, opening the door to their detection.
The sheriff hopes that Tonya Couch will encourage Ethan to quickly return from Mexico, but did not say Thursday whether she’d agreed to do so. Couch appeared miserable as she answered the judge’s questions about the whereabouts of her passport.
Patten said Couch plans to enter a plea of not guilty in court. According to a court witness, Tonya Couch will remain in jail until Monday, when another hearing will take place.
It would of course be the job of the Sheriff to hold press conferences, if necessary, or supervise his or her staff on a day to day basis.
Couch appeared in a yellow jumpsuit in court Friday and complained to the judge about her jail conditions, saying it was too bright to sleep, according to WFAA.
Ethan Couch was sentenced in Tarrant County to 10 years of drink- and drug-free probation, which critics saw as leniency because of his family’s wealth. The defense attorney pointed out that a magistrate initially set the bond at $10,000 on the arrest warant. She was booked into Tarrant County Jail Thursday afternoon.
Patten missed Friday’s hearing because she was stuck in traffic. Ethan Couch remains in Mexico, fighting extradition.
In 2013, Ethan Couch, 16, was driving drunk when he crashed his truck, killing four people and seriously injuring others. McConnell’s close friend, youth pastor Brian Jennings, was killed.
Nine people were injured, including passengers in Couch’s pickup. Ethan had a blood alcohol level three times the legal limit on the night of the crash.
A spokeswoman for the Tarrant County District Attorney said the office is aware of the reports but can not confirm an arrival time.

Tonya Couch returned to the United States last week and had been in the custody of the Los Angeles police.
