Chasing a 246 to win, Zimbabwe was skittled out for 172 in the 45th over despite Sean Williams making a fine 102 off 124 balls with three boundaries and four sixes.

Captain Asghar Stanikzai (38) remained defiant, though, and along with the support of Mirwais Ashraf (21) and Dawlat Zadran (13 not out) they piled on a flurry of late runs to reach 245-9 from their 50 overs.

Afghanistan have clinched a historic one-day global series over Zimbabwe after a 73-run victory in Bulawayo saw them win 3-2.

With today’s ODI match, levelling the series 2-2, Afghanistan will face Zimbabwe in the final match of the ODI series on Saturday, 24th October.

Zimbabwe won the opening match of the series by 8 wickets but the series was leveled during the second match which was won by Afghanistan by 58 runs.
