Afridi served legal notice over ‘love in India’ remarks

A petition was filed in the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday, seeking action against Pakistani Twenty20 captain Shahid Afridi for his controversial statements in India.
Yesterday the cricketing world stood still for a few seconds, when Shahid Afridi made a statement saying, “We get more love in India than in Pakistan”. Senior lawyer Azhar Saddique told PTI that he has written to Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Shahryar Khan to launch an inquiry into the matter. “Now who will ensure that Pakistani team will play against India in Kolkata in T20 match to win”, said Saddique. “People here always give us a lot of love”, Afridi said. “We have not got this much love even from Pakistan”.
He said on the said on the “Aaj TV” channel: “What have the Indians given us?” “Players making such statements should be ashamed of themselves”, he said.
It is worth mentioning that the Nagpur pitch was rated “poor” by the International Cricket Council after a Test against South Africa ended in three days previous year. Talk the reality even while in India. “The job with this staff would be to move and play properly in Asia not create such remarks that were unnecessary”, he explained.
The epic encounter between the arch-rivals India and Pakistan is scheduled to take place at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on March 19.
