Afro Samurai 2 Pulled From Sale, “Game Was a Failure”

The game released in September for Playstation 4 and PC platforms with the Xbox One version coming a month later in October.

I’m not sure what Versus Evil was expecting with Afro Samurai 2 to be honest. He said the company apologizes for the game’s quality. If the game’s not finished, simply release it and try to fix it afterwards. Most publishers and developers are more than happy to not do that. The video games are based on the popular manga and anime license.

Did anyone here purchase Afro Samurai 2 and get their refund? The small development team had less than 10 people working on the project. David S. Robinson, the studio’s president and co-founder, was the senior producer on Afro Samurai.

It’s hard to imagine how can you go wrong with a property like Afro Samurai since that would make an wonderful game. The game’s story was written by Jim DeFelice, a co-founder of Redacted and an author who co-wrote “American Sniper”, the autobiography on Chris Kyle. Its soundtrack was produced by Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA.
