After arrest, Muslim boy becomes hero, hailed and invited by Obama, Mark

A muslim boy who was arrested for bringing a “homemade bomb” into school has been invited to the White House by the President.

Update, 11:20 a.m.: No charges will be filed against the 14-year-old who was arrested after bringing a clock to school that was mistaken for a bomb. “That’s too bad, but it’s not too late for all of us to use this as a teachable moment and to search our own conscience for biases in whatever form they take”, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said.

“Hey Ahmed- we’re saving a seat for you at this weekend’s Google Science Fair…want to come?”

And while many rallied around the bright young mind, many on Twitter used the arrest to showcase America’s deep-rooted racial issues.

The arrest sparked a wave of support on social media.

Mark Zuckerberg, the billionaire founder of the social networking giant Facebook, also invited Ahmed to visit his company’s headquarters.

Irving Independent School District officials were not immediately available for comment.

Clinton tweeted that “assumptions don’t keep us safe” and urged the teenager to “keep building”.

Ahmed Mohamed appeared at a news conference Wednesday alongside his attorney, a representative for the Muslim community and his family members.

Mohamed told the Dallas Morning News in a video it posted online. By the end of the day, Mohamed was being handcuffed by police officers and questioned about whether he brought an improvised explosive to school.

“It just shocked me that people could do this to him”, said his cousin, 15-year-old Muram Ibrahim, quoted in the SMH.

Ahmed Mohamed, son of a Sudanese immigrant in United States had never thought that his trouble will end in all round appreciation and he will become an instant hit across the world.
