McIver said she wrote the passages down and “later included some of the phrasing in the draft that became ultimately the final speech”. She then read some passages of Obama’s 2008 speech to her over the phone. And on the heels of Melania Trump’s plagiarism accusations, Donald’s son Donald Trump Jr. stands accused of lifting part of his speech last night from an American Conservative article.
McIver identified herself in an unusual statement posted on the Trump campaign’s website, hours after the chief strategist, Paul Manafort, said the issue was manufactured by the media.
He seemed to pin the press scrutiny of Melania Trump’s words on presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. Earlier in the day, he will appear with his wife, Karen, Trump and his family at a welcome event.
Mr Trump’s nominee for vice-president, IN governor Mike Pence, will be the keynote speaker on the third day of the Republican convention IN Cleveland. The profile says she trained at George Balanchine’s School of American Ballet and graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in English.
“A person she has always liked is Michelle Obama”, the speechwriter, Meredith McIver, said of Mrs. Trump in a statement Wednesday from the campaign. “No harm was meant”.
Pence lauded Trump is his own man, an independent spirit, and said change in the country will be “huge” under his presidency.
The campaign hoped for better imagery Wednesday.
