After being traded, Brandon Boykin says Chip Kelly is ‘uncomfortable’ around

Boykin, for his part, clarified his comments Sunday.

Boykin will make $1.54 million this season and was the Eagles’ best cornerback in 2014 and rated No. 21 overall by Pro Football Focus.

You told The Philadelphia Inquirer in April that Chip doesn’t “like or respect stars”. “Chip likes uniformity and I don’t have a problem with that”. “When you talk to him, he had a great off-season I think from when we left from June 18th until now”. That’s not what I said and I think it was kind of taken out of context. The team has brought in numerous players in the draft and free agency under Kelly that are African American, including Malcolm Jenkins, Eric Rowe, Jordan Matthews, Nelson Agholor and DeMarco Murray. It’s hard to explain with him.

“You see how fast he got rid of all the good players”, McCoy told ESPN. [Editor’s note: The Eagles declined to comment on McCoy’s statements.]. It’s also entirely possible that Kelly is simply an egomaniac who doesn’t work well with other egomaniacs, many of whom just so happen to be black. “If he is here to help us win, I am all for it”.

The Steelers will have to make a roster move before Boykin can practice with the team in Latrobe. So it’s nothing to do with Chip. I’m not saying he’s a racist in any way. “So to just get out there and play ball and know that my knee can do it, I think that it was a really big first step and first day today”.

Based on the Steelers expectations for themselves this season, he’s the kind of quick-fix at CB that can pay off big-time this year, because you never know how high an explosive offense can go if their defense can start getting some more stops. So it is what it is. Thomas said in March that “Eagles players believed there was a “hint of racism” in Kelly’s personnel decisions”.

It’s impossible to know from the outside whether there’s any truth to these accusations. We had nine (corners) and we’re probably going to keep five.

Kelly was very surprised about the criticism from Boykin because he felt they parted last night on a good note after the head coach had given Boykin the news. Both were subsequently traded.

If only Boykin had expressed his concerns during his 21/2 years with Kelly rather than the day after he was traded to the Steelers. Even though he’s only a one-year rental and will likely cost a fourth-round pick, the Steelers could still have him in the prime of his career after this season.
