After California attack, Clinton urges gun control

Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders said Thursday the response to the San Bernardino mass shooting needs to be strong new limits on gun purchases, solidifying the Vermont senator’s move to the left on an issue which Clinton has dominated through much of the campaign.

“It is time for us to say we’re going to have comprehensive background checks and close the gun show loophole”, Clinton said. “People like us who went to the movies or dropped our kids off at school or went to church”.

“Just what will it take for Congress to overcome the intimidation of the gun lobby and do something as sensible as making sure people on the terrorist watch list can’t buy weapons?”

“Her infrastructure plan is further proof that she understands that the state of our nation’s infrastructure is a bellwether for the health of the American economy and for the economic prospects of American workers”, said Sean McGarvey, the organization’s president.

Clinton planned to end her day with a town hall meeting in Dover.

Clinton has met with members of Moms Demand Action on the campaign trail and, last month in Chicago, met with family members of victims of gun violence, including the mothers of Eric Garner and Trayvon Martin.

She highlighted a program in the Reno, Nev., area, where millions of dollars are being saved because homeless people are picked up from the streets, and placed in a residential environment where they have to work. Union members said they are considering picketing outside. Insulators President James McCourt, in a letter to Clinton seen by Reuters, praised her “recognition of the significant contributions of our members to energy efficiency”.

As part of a new media research and frequency planning system developed by Telmar, the company conducted a study of the ad blocker usage of voters and found Clinton’s supporters are 28.3% less likely to use ad blockers vs. the average American voter. Clinton liked that, and said after the event the man should talk with her people. He asked Clinton why contractors who profited from recent wars don’t have to give back to care for vets.
